Overseas Internship
The Department of Chinese Language and Literature is an emerging department in the 21st century. Its establishment is in line with the international trends and national policy. We focus on a comprehensive curriculum encompassing the theories and skills for teaching Chinese as a second language, as well as a thorough understanding of Chinese philosophy and literature. Students will be equipped with sufficient knowledge of second language acquisition and be able to enhance capabilities of digital applications. With their versatile skills and competences, our students are ready and primed for the competitive global arena.
Since 2015, the Department of Chinese Language and Literature has been working together with the Ministry of Education on its Pilot Overseas Internship Program and New Southbound Pilot Overseas Internship Program. Over the past four years, we have received a total of NT$4.62 million as grants from the MoE. About 70 students in our department have therefore been able to join overseas internship programs for free in countries such as the US, Japan, France, Thailand, South Korea, and Vietnam.
Both our students and the faculty have had exchange experiences with Chinese language schools across the world and built close connections with them. Most importantly, students participating in the internship programs will have the opportunity to put theory into practice in the field of education.
